TRENDING GADGETS: NVIDIA SHIELD and TILE APP

This day's topic is a little bit new to our ears but thanks to our presenters they brought up something not-so-new trend. Haha

NVIDIA SHIELD PORTABLE

I heard this gadget about a year ago, when I was installing the latest driver for my graphics driver that time. Well, honestly saying, you won't be a fan of this one if you are a heavy gamer. But if you are a try-it-all type of a gamer, or a fan of android games, this one's worth trying. A lot of android gamer admit they hate playing through touch screens so these consoles were made.

Starting at $199 or P8955, you can have this nice multi-function console. Not that pricey right? Also, it is very portable just like PSP or Nintendo DS series. But unlike them, Shield is very powerful in terms of processing. It is in-line with Razer Edge and Microsoft Surface Pro. But compared to them, Razer Edge is likely to win because it is more likely can handle more PC games than of Shield. "The device is similar in shape to an Xbox 360 controller and similar in control setup to a Dualshock controller, with two analog joysticks, a D-pad, and other buttons. It is the first device to utilize Nvidia's Tegra 4 processor." according to Wikipedia.

So, if you want an affordable gaming console but not that too hefty, you should get this. But beware, if you really want to play the heaviest games ever, get a gaming laptop or consoles, it won't hurt if you really want the fun.

TILE APP

Can you recall the times that you lost something? Like when was the last time you lost your keys? Or phone either? Well, there's this app I just recently heard, or I saw it straight from the presenters, this new trend called Tile App. This Tile will always remind you that you will never ever lose a thing again.

You either strap it on your phone or stick it with your wallet, it's all up to you if you ensure security. But unfortunately, this tiny buddy is only compatible with iOS. But the good thing is, it is coming to Android these coming days. For $25 dollars or P1125 per package (8 tiles/package) , it is really affordable and if you know you really are forgetful, this minion is really helpful. Thanks to Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS, it is supported with it that it saves the last location of the lost material and helps you track it down. Also, if the lost item is very far, the tracking signal bounces to the nearest Tile user until it reaches your phone. Very interesting, right?

But every gadgets has its downside, it's battery isn't replaceable and one tile has only one year life span. Also, Tile App isn't compatible with any Windows gadgets. Let's set aside Android for now, because it's coming to Android very soon. Not bad, eh?

IT Careers and IT Global Talents

So, after the #RubyPH, we're back on track in our classes. Our ICT Trends have resumed this afternoon and started the very first reporters, 5 more meetings and we're off to go. Their topic is all about the IT Careers and Global Talents. Although, the reporters didn't go well with the presentation and had some difficulties in having the rhythm with the class, they figured to explain the flaws out of the presentation. But, some of the details were not clear enough and you have to think the ideas what they want to deliver.

Moving on, what I've learned to their topic is that you may not notice the existence of the importance of IT but somehow you might realize that IT plays a big role in our industry, especially on technology. From your text messages to conversations you had with SIRI, IT is involved on its cores. While the IT industry is growing, it is getting more prominent. And as it gets bigger, the more careers and jobs are opening for IT people. As we can notice nowadays, IT is getting in-demand overseas like UAE and USA. So a lot of people are getting attracted to learn the IT experience. But don't be too easy with it, there are pros and cons on it. But we must think about the bright side, right?

At the end of the presentation, they gave an activity. Although it had a lot of misunderstandings and errors, we still had fun on the activity. It went with a True or False for the first test and Is it a Pros or Cons? for the second test. It's not that tough exam or a very easy one because of some unclear and misguided questions, but we managed to have some points. Everybody had a good time and ended the session.

The Debate

Although I'm not really a debate guy, but I had to do that one. PEACE XD

So last December 1, 2014, we had a debate about the common issues that sometimes we come up in mind. Our class was divided into two and talked about this issues. Here's the list:

*Is Facebook safe or not?
*Is going online a necessity nowadays or not?
*Is torrenting good or bad?

So, of course, in two groups, there will be "Pros vs. Antis" setup. In every scenario, we will have an interchange of sides. But at the end of the session, the Group 1 won. But I didn't feel down because although this debate also centers the activity of the students, there was a lot of things we learned after the debate. And somehow the debate turned out to be SUCCESSFUL.

What It's Like To Be Me?

Hi! The name's Carlos Ian Isip! They call me Yan or Yanyan, but i don't really care as long as it's me. 19 years of age and a pure Filipino. I'm a proud Carolinian, studying BS Information and Communications Technology.  I dance, I sing, I act, but none has ever recognized me doing one. :D I was born and grew a lil bit in Manila, almost migrated in Canada, and now a Cebuano.

In the world of technology, I'm a slight Techie Geek. Obsessed with gadgets' specifications, especially what's trending now. I'm also a frustrated gamer, but it depends on my preferences and tastes. I'm not into photography and blogging, they're not just my passion, so i gave the chance to those who are patient enough to grow their SOCIOWORLD.I spend a lot of my time on internet, gaming, and music. I love studying the corners of Android. I don't really do iOS, it's not just my thing.

I'm a movie buff and a TV series addict. The Walking Dead and Once Upon a Time for me is timeless, no matter how they'll get old, i will love them no matter what. XD I love Sci-Fi movies, yeah, Love Stories sometimes, but my great mind needs a wide imagination to be awesome. But the dark side of my mind is that I'm a zombie apocalypse addict, imagining about me holding an super duper amazing gun. I'm also currently a Divergent and Hunger Games addict, although i'm not a bookworm but i love the film adaptations *don't put the FSOG in the way*.

So i guess the travel ends here. If you enjoyed it, that's great. Well, if you don't, then i don't give a damn. Know me more personally so it can be incredible. BON VOYAGE!
