GREEN COMPUTING
Last January 9, 2015, Friday, we had a seminar about Green Computing. It is conducted by the Green Computing's reporters in all ICT Trends classes. We our very thankful that the seminar's speaker is Mr. Christian Maderazo. He's been a very amazing speaker that left us wonderful knowledge expansion about Green Computing.
On that seminar, we learned a lot of the latest gadgets and trends regarding on how to Go Green. First, he showed us the comparisons of CRT vs LCD and LED TVs. CRT Monitors can heat up a lot and LCDs and LEDs don't use up a lot of electricity and can save a lot of energy. Also, they don't have radiations that can damage our eyes. Second is the Thin Client, where all computers depend on the server to fulfill it's computational roles. The downside of the Thin Client is that because all computers depend on a single working server, it may be slow because of the traffic. Third, he showed us the latest trending CPU stating that we should Go Small. It's the latest CPU line from Intel that is hefty not on price but on it's decent performance that you won't believe that size of a External Hard Drive can do a lot of multitasking tasks, and it is approximately P12,000 - P13, 000, affordable that you can save up to 80% from a normal CPU with the same performance specs.
This seminar has a very nice topic, that expanded my knowledge from last reporters' report.
