GREEN COMPUTING: Reporting

GREEN COMPUTING

Last January 7, 2015, the reporting had resume and it's Green Computing's turn. It tackles about how we can use our technologies in the right way and conserving energy without forfeiting user experience. It gives us the knowledge on how to choose devices and appliances that supports going green but in our own preference.

What I've learned on this report is that my Green Computing knowledge has been expanded as they've given us what are the different ways on how to Go Green. One is the Energy Star that we knew all these years, as what we've been seeing from phone chargers to appliance plugs. Energy Star is an International standard for energy efficient consumer products originated in the United States, according to Wikipedia. Second is Server Virtualization, where the physical server of a certain computer is partitioned into smaller virtual servers to save and help maximize the server resources.

It is a very interesting topic that we should look forward to. I've learned a lot from that session's topic, so i looked forward in listening in the seminar on January 9, 2015 about Green Computing.
